The Tribute To Pavarotti

Synopsis:

Salute Petra, Celebrating The Life Of Luciano Pavarotti, was an incredible tribute weekend that took place in the world heritage site of Petra, Jordan. The combination of inimitable and mesmerising settings, with performances from some of the worlds most respected and revered musicians made it one of the musical events of the decade, and set the precedent for more cultural events coming to Jordan.
The event was spread over weekend of 11th and 12th November, and was the brainchild of Nicoletta Mantovani Pavarotti and HRH Princess Haya of Jordan. The first celebration was on Saturday evening with a Memorial ceremony at one of the new Seven Wonders Of The World, The Treasury. The site, which is thought to have been constructed in the first century BC, was the perfect picturesque setting for artists from around the world, including Sting and Bono, to give heart warming and emotional tributes about Pavarotti.
